So I trudged myself out to LA for the
TWS Awards, which are always exciting. My ears are still ringing, my throat is sorta scratchy from all the second hand smoke from both weed and grits, and I luckily escaped getting beer thrown all over me. (Throwing full cans of beer at the stage was pretty much standard for the entire evening) This is
Nick before the action started, as usual, comfortably numb, toting a cute hippie-chick on one arm and a Pabst on the other.

When I walked up to this event on Hollywood and Vine in the heart of LA I saw a swarm of skate-rats pushing into the door like a ants' nest. Fuel TV was there trying to snatch people's souls into their airwaves on a red carpet style set-up. Then there were bikini-clad women roaming the crowd. I thought of my humble beginnings as a skater, learning how to ollie, or boardsliding a bench for the first time, then my brain just fast forwarded to this. What the hell is going on.

I ran into Erik Ellington. Long time homie who I have not seen for a while. It was nice to say hi, although in too hectic a situation.

Then after I barged through the rif-raf to get in with my posse in tow, I was stoked to see Ray Barbee and the Matson twins shredding it up live.

Who is the asshole smoking inside?

Is that Deanna with her cleavage showing?
Grant Hatfield was sitting in front of me, wait, that's not
Grant. And Josh too.

Here is a better photo of
Josh Harmony. He had this footage of his son Harrison that he showed us. So Sweet.

I tried to shot some trolls, er, girls sitting in the aisles causing a fire-hazard.

Then I remembered a flash works better.

I was lucky to have old friend
Miki Vuckovich sitting next to me. He has been
skating since before you were born.

MUSKA! What up dog? "I've been living in New York and making art with my buddy Dash Snow."

Former Toy rider Nate Broussard was there...

He was hella drunk and hugging everyone. Then I saw Matt B...

And went over to get a photo with him. Yeah Matt B.

This is Nick after the video premiere (which he destroyed). "I said congrats on the part Nick!" But I don't think he even heard me or could focus on me. Just like before the premiere, comfortably numb.
