Saturn-day: out in the office

The office is everywhere.
The enchanting Wendy Yao who runs the Ooga Booga store in Los Angeles. Go visit it sometime, it is a very pleasant experience.

No way, Ed! That Ooga Booga store is lame. It's just a bunch of outlandishly priced handmade clothes and canvas tote bags. There are a few cool books, but for the most part, it's a thinly veiled scam for neo-bohemian art school dropouts to get money for pot and cans of Tecate. Plus the whole shopping center smells like overcooked Moo Shu pork.

Dear other Brendan, go and learn some shit.
Get it together.

Whoa, BARR. Sorry to knock the only location in LA that keeps your tired art-scene tabloid on its shelf. I guess you didn’t get the message, but 1992 called. It said it wants its since-forgotten concept of having a boring zine that nobody reads back. And that reminds me, Animal Collective also called. They asked that you please stop eating the peanuts out of their shit.

And I did go and learn some shit: It’s the 21st century. Maybe it’s about time you step up to the plate and stop being “pretty much vegan.”

PS: If the real Brendan is actually reading this, I honestly do like your music and the above comments were made in jest. I met you once before at the Hope Gallery and you were super chill.

Anger breeds anger.
Can't we all just have some cous cous and hold hands around a bush?

It's my "tired art-scene tabloid" too.

Dear Other Brendan, Old Boy, OB, my man...
You are really on some wack haterishness. I only commented back because the fact is that a lot of young and open minded kids actually look to Ed for inspiration on this blog, and you're trying to undermine something that is so generous and truly THERE for people — Ooga Booga is such an incredibly important resource for artists and art enthusiasts in LA, and really (given the internet and mailorder and all), the world. What Wendy does with that space is so important. If something there went over your head, that's fine, you know, sometimes things take time. But talking shit and trying to undermine everyone's experience on the internet just makes you look bitter and corny... and it doesn't help you or anyone.
As much as I have tried to remember, I can't picture you, but I try to be "chill" to everyone because life is just too short and complicated. We're all in this together, let's make the most of it.
Very Best
"real" Brendan
