Ed, when your selling a piece of art do you keep track of the cost of materials or just ballpark it when figuring out a price for the finished piece?

im going to pretend that first pic is a paleolithic boyfriend and girlfriend skull set. they look sad, but at the same time a little stoked to be in a museum together again making modern people stop in their tracks and wonder what their lives were like

how often, if ever, do you ask a stranger if it's ok to photograph them? some photographs i see of yours totally seem like the subjects are off-guard, while others seem like you might have asked permission before taking the picture. just curious.
