"This is the first time I have been by that way since we last skated the park.
I couldnt stand it. Driving there the way I used to but knowing it was gone.
I dont think I will ever get over this. That spot will never be some
stadium It will always be the HB park."

i never even got to skate there. i feel like i missed out on a piece of american history. like the guy that lived next door to chuck bukowski for years but never came over to hang out and get drunk.

I totally agree with Griff...

I made my friend take the longer way to HB just to stop by the park & see what it looks like... Well, my eyes swelled up a little...

I mean, look at how many people grew up there!!! I am among those people.. That's my childhood, & it was destroyed for what...? FOOTBALL?!?!? FOOTBALL SUCKS!!!!!!!!

I was in my school's library one day when I decided to ditch class & work on some homework, when I came across a Skateboarder mag, & I saw "HB PARK". It was the article Griff did for "15 things you didn't know", sO I tore the page out & it's on my wall. I'm going to laminate it.

What can i say about the hb park that even can be expressed into words, ive broken down there only to be completley lifted by my friends, smoke pot behind the wall so the wind wasnt so bad, zak bringing his work radio after painting apartments all day completely ripping! a allen brian and curley driving all the way from capistrano. i loved life there, the firey sunsets burned in my memory forever. and to cut that flatbar off with ED a true friend now and a true hero of mine as a kid. we didnt give two shits if people didnt like it, good! stay dont come if your bringing bad vibes. the people who loved that place now share those times together.

I think mr. Zak said it the best when he said \"where we gonna drink our tall cans now??? naw but really, my parents used to drive me and my homies a good one and a half hours to the park back in like 97... It was the first park I went to and to top it off, I saw Jeremy Wray there that day...good times. Now I live a few blocks away for the past three years, seen many pros, learned many tricks, met many of the locals, made a lot of friends... Now fortunately or unfortunately I\'ve taken local status at the santa ana park, a good 12 mile bike ride away... not quite the same but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
