Half a Fortnight in Manhattan: Part 1

Speaking at the Museum of Modern Art to a theater filled with people about Skateboard Videos? Now I've seen it all.

I went to be part of such a panel discussion. From Left to Right: Jason Dill, Yours Truly, Spike Jonze, Ty Evans, Eliza from the MOMA, Jake Phelps, The Gonz, Patrick O'Dell, Tobin Yelland. Greg Hunt and Lance Mountain were there too.

I'm pictured here with a particularly rebellious Yeti or Abominable Snowman or... I'll even accept Wampa. "Fuck whoever cares!"

Oh, it was Spike. Go see his new movie, you know the name.

Spike was throwing uppercuts at (Oscar award winning!) actress Catherine Keener, who is a very nice, grounded, and outgoing human in person.

She wanted a photo with the infamous Jake Phelps, so we chased him down to get one. He meted out a bear-style hug as punishment.

Who knew Keener would be so cuddly?

A panelists-eye view of Gonz and Lance Mountain.

Afterward, a lovely young tart extracted words from Phelper, a not too hard task for anyone within earshot.

Then No Age played, in the Museum of Modern Art, next to some Rodin scuplture of Balzac. No need to even make a joke. Good (and ear splitting) Times.

I ran into some young humans who were fans of the Toy Machine and surrounding culture. Happy to hear free music and drink free Colt 45.

Catherine Keener's still got it man.

Gonz still looks spectacular.

I still have yet to see No Age play. My girlfriend has like 6 times at the Smell. I've never been there either. Are they any good live?

Did any skateboarding happen?
I wonder how spike or whoever made a whole movie out of that book.
If some terrorist wanted to destroy skateboarding,he'd bomb that place.
did Mark and you say "Hey Lance,nice board company!" then gave him a swirly.

Thanks for all the inspiration over the years. Im 22 years deep and continue my choice to skate to rupture thought and dumb temptations around the city.
The dance of life has been that much free er due to shred possibilities and commitment and folks like you.
