Tampa, Florida, Wild in the Streets...

aka: Go Skateboarding Day. In the brutal Floridian heat.
The Boss, Andrew Reynolds is a healthy food addict now, and was more than down to go to Whole Foods with me to do some shopping.
I can't tell you how much respect I have for this guy.
Keeping his body in tip-top shape for Stay Gold, yes, but mostly for himself. He loves skating and wants to do as long as he can, and to do that he knows you have to take care of your body. I wish all the skaters on Baker and Toy Machine followed his lead!
He even got me doing some stretches...
Looking up skate videos.
This was the first kid I saw in Tampa on Go Skate Day. What a great start to the day!
He's not messing around. I should do a board like this, no?
The crowd was ready to shred the streets. It was only eight trillion degress outside.
After the 5 mile skate that nearly ended my life, I sat with some fellow skaters who had made the trek also. This gal's favorite skater is Bucky Lasek, and she likes to skate vert. I think her and her friend watch a lot of Fuel TV.
This is her buddy, he likes Rodney Mullen.
The Bro Bowl in Tampa. Andrew ollied this much to the delight of the crowd.
Then I ran into John Montessi. This guy was on New Deal in 1990, 91, just like me! He owns a skate shop now called WestSide. (check out their blog of the GSD event.)
This was from the airport in Houston, TX where I had a layover today.
I didn't shoot much digital, so this is all I have right now from my Tampa adventure.

Didn't Reynolds quit smoking recently? And aren't those piss drunx guys sobering up? Anyway, it's pretty cool he's staying healthy. Reynolds is like how old and he's still skating like crazy. I've been feeling fat fom not being active at all.
Cute girl there.
5 miles? Hopefully you put some fat wheels on your board. Riding worn out bearing sized wheels would fuck you up. And when I skate I like to constantly push and go super fast and shit. Way more fun.
I guess I spent GSD at my grandma's funeral thing. She felt hard and like plastic.last time I touched her she was soft, warm, and malluable. Then she was all hard and preserved. It was weird having her laying there pumped with chemicals while people talked small talk and her corpse was just in the corner and most of us pretty much came out of her. Whatevs. I don't think I'll blog those photos.
Kevin's portfolio is looking good. I was clicking around and saw u bunch of staged photos on that site. Oh. And also they yearbook for my highschool had a student photography section. Nothing really tickled my fancy. Then I guess crude sexual and perverted photos aren't really meant to be mementos of your highschool experience.

the sect photo reminds me of that hard ass song from discharge by the name of the same tattoo idea.

i skated like any skater should've on go skateboarding day. spent some hours at an underground basement that has a mile of smooth surface and some banks along with some nice skateboarding gents and a pair of gals as an audience. good times indeed. we filmed some stuff too and israel (the guy in the sect costume from the TM sock team) was there as well

skate to a funeral next time, jgonz
and sorry about your abuelita, mate.

It was super hot here in Chicago. It was also supposed to storm all day, which it didn't. Typical Chicago weather... Anyways we hit up a ton of spots even with the heat being almost unbearable.

My local skate park let everyone skate for free, it was extremely crowded. You couldn't even move. But there are no spots in my town, so it was that or flat ground. I chose flat ground.

Congratulations on Deanna getting in Juxtapoz.

Wild in the Streets looks like a good time, minus the florida heat.

Are you going to be at the RVCA demo? Of course I want to see everyone on RVCA, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I want to see you there
