A few Days in Sardinia - Part 1

After the show opened, and after our trip to the coast with Thomas and Regina, we went up north to Olbia, where from there we would explore the Costa Smeralda.
Olbia is much nicer than people made it out to be.
Random spot check for you. Completely unskated. Perfect run-up and landing. Skate it during siesta when the whole city is a ghost-town.

While we are spot-checking. The local church in Olbia has a sweet flat-bar going down a ramp...
...And it's pretty low.*
(*See figure A above.)

This park has seen better days.

Oh God, that ledge is perfect. I wanna it.

So, considering Deanna is pretty short, that rail has to be 2 feet high.
No offense, Deanna. haha.

I love the mini-mini-ramp in the back at that park. That bank to ledge/curb thingy looks hecka fun.

im in a new town and, although there are people who skate here, i haven't connected with them yet. and in so many places there are awesome things to skate, a lot of them untouched, fresh new spots. the thing is, you can't psych yourself up to skate a 3 stair ledge to bank by yourself. i need a partner in crime to ride with. i'd feel very self-conscious skating a clearly visible street spot alone.

also: check out the lady in the corner eyeing you as you take a picture of a handrail. i did the same thing the other day, took a photo of a spot to send to a friend, and i got a lot of wierd looks like, "what the hell are you taking a picture of?" maybe they just think i'm a landscapre architect. speaking of landscape architects, theres this finnish dude whos a flow/pro skater who also has a landscape architecture degree. he's doin damage from the inside: http://www.jannesaario.com/micropolis.htm -- gnarly

same here. I see awesome spots but end up skating shit tons by myself. so sometimes I'll do a 5050 on a little hubba I find and most of the time I'll just be skating the bank to wall and flatground "secret spot" I found. One of the people I know was like "you're too old to be looking for spots and skating."

I feel very alone after the move here.

my ankle is still fucked and I haven't been able to skate and have been confined to my apartment. Hopefully this week I can get out there again.

Time we all buy tickets and make a sock-team video.

I'm trying to make more friends that too skate because I only have two and haven\'t seen either of them in a while.

Wow... We all skate alone, & hate it.

Ever since I moved to Huntington Beach, I either skate out front, or don\'t skate at all. Maybe drive 30 minutes to skate with some friends... I have one friend down here who skates, but he just sprained one of his vertebrae when we were working, so he\'ll be out for a while.

All of my friends are super down for the sock team, but they don\'t do anything about it, & they\'re all fucking really good.

I'll get a plane ticket and we can skate together.

I like toymachine.com better than facebook

haha, my friends would only smoke weed and complain about society. I just skateboarded. They didn't graduate highschool. now they're in a crappy Anarchist Punk band. Those dudes blew it. I spent my Senior year skateboarding alone at break and lunch everyday by myself. I only said a couple of words to another skater, but never talked to any of the other ones. "Gay" was their favorite adjective also.

Now I don't really skate or get out of the house. fuck. I guess that's why we're all on the internet and commenting here. Sock Team pride.

Anyway,I guess once a skater, always a skater. you get the whole "skater's eye" thing. You know, when you see a sick spot and think it would be gnarly if someone did this or that there. I bet when I'm an old fart I'll be wheel chair'd up a ramp and there'd be a sick rail and I'll just think to myself "why hasn't anyone 5050'd this yet?" Or act surprised when little kids don't know who Cardiel or Mark Gonzales are. Anyway, yep, you'll be going along and always keep your eye peeled at stair sets and curbs.

Last photo, that Graff looks like a Transexual with a Uniboob.

Oh yeah, you guys hear about Laurence Fishburne's daughter is going to be in a Porno?
Posted By: Jgonzalez on August 9th, 2010 at 01:44PM PST
Carolyn told me about that... He deserves it, that asshole.

Ahh.. I will cry if the next generation of skaters doesn't know who the Gonz is... Mark, not Jordan.

I think that is why we all get along. Because we're all a bunch of internet lurkers that don't have real-life friends (I mean, I'm pretty sure we have friends, but regardless we talk to each other on this site like we know each other in person).

I smoke weed & complain & I graduated high school. haha.
I have a lot of good friends, but 30 miles away. Gas in Southern California is a'risin' daily.

I love how we got super deep right now.

We put too much trust into this blog.

Fuck meeting up for a skate sesh. Let's have a slumber party instead.
Posted By: Jgonzalez on August 9th, 2010 at 04:42PM PST
slumber party FTW.

I am going to try and put more weight on my ankle. It's getting better and I can kind of walk around my apartment. I took some advice from someone on here and started lurking more than commenting. I lurked moar before, then started getting all comment-y and now I'm back to lurker mode. which is ok.

I don't have a video camera but someone is coming to film me soon and then I'll upload that on here or something and you can put that on vincent's shit.
Posted By: d1ggitydan on August 9th, 2010 at 05:01PM PST
I'll try to make a video at my park and e-mail it to someone.

Slumber party, Sounds fun.

Sometimes I come back here to see what you guys have to say, so yaa, I'm a lurker.

I like all of the commenters.
