Portovenere, Italy - year 2000
And the Cinque Terre, right before I broke my neck.
The town of Portovenere was one of the best places I have seen in Italy.
Such a small and quaint town. very few American tourists, all of whome seemed to flock to the nearby Cinque Terre.

Went here in between a contest in Austria, and a contest in Switzerland. I broke my neck right after this trip in Lausanne.
The was a pretty hairy way to get on and off the boat with swells yet old grandmas were doing it very sketchy and wobbly.

I had the best cat ever, Ptah, the one in the broken neck picture, for over 17 years. He died. No cats now.

I just read that 15 things you didn't know about Ed Templeton article. Why do you regret sticking with the impossible? and why the hell don't you use deodorant? hahah
Anyways...cool photos. I want to go to Italy someday. I really like the pictures of the people getting off the boat. There's barely a pathway and it's covered with people everywhere. It's weird how we manipulate nature. And of course the graffiti penis is funny.

today was strange. I got locked out of my apartment, then my girlfriend got locked out of our car. then we got some random locksmith we found off craigslist to open the car. I was talking to him and figured he wasn't even a locksmith but some random dude with the right tools. he could have definitely mugged us. but it was worth paying half price in the city for a door to get popped.
then on the ride home- there was this random song by an artist I didn't catch the name of that sounded exactly like it was Morrisey, but it wasn't. and I'm mad at myself for not getting the name or band or anything.
I had to do a lot of walking today through some shady areas of the city. there was random clamour all around; people talking, noise pollution, stupid mainstream music blaring from rickety old cars. but then, through the din of it all, I could hear it; CLACK CLACK - CLACK CLACK- CLACK CLACK. It was music to my ears. seeing some random dude cruising around on his skateboard. not a long board. Rare in the urban sprawl amongst yuppies bitching about the lower class vagrants and the pretentious snobs in hipster circles.
