Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire: pt 4
Back to our trip to Rome.
This is not the Colosseum, its just a ruin of an old arena that they built apartments on top of.
Walking through the ruin yard...

This painting was made in 792 or something like that. Very freaking old.
It was on a special rig that could bring it down for people to touch it.
People pile notes at the feet of this saint.
I hope you are not pinning your hopes on these notes.
A shop in Trastavere...
They guy invited us in when he saw our cameras. He was a photographer himself...
The Spanish steps...
Went into the church at the top of the Spanish steps.
There was some interesting paintings in there. Death by Lumberjacks. Rough.
Lemme get that head on this platter and into the oven...

Our train to Civitavecchia, where we take a ferry to Sardinia.

The young Grant and Ashley in the midst of a mystical and romantic adventure.

The night was serene, and we were excited to hit the sea.
The kids had brought a wide array of snacks.
And were about to sit down and chomp them while we watched a Mystery Science Theater 3000.
