Out Takes from the Kid's Wear Shoot

I shot Captain Soncho's sister Coral for the new issue of Kid's Wear Magazine. These are some out-takes from that shoot.
Coral was laughing at some of the clothes that were sent from Germany.
And in this look the world flashes in front of you, the whole spark of life, the mischievous wiles of youth - but then fades quickly back to reality.
Soncho looks out at the power plant pumping smoke into the sky, but he is only steps from the beach, and position is almost everything at this age.

Sweet post!

All these photos are great.

Is that your shadow in the pic with the Kurt Vonnegut quote?

BTW I seen you in Teen Vogue! Not bad.

Yes.Photos are very atmospheric.

So this is what "kids" wear today?

Posted By: S on August 13th, 2012 at 02:46PM PST
They send you clothes? huh. I thought they just were like "hey, photographer. find a cool kid and take their pix. k. send them to us when ur done.k. bye."

Those years of taking Lance Mountain Jr's fashion photos has paid off. Ed, you're good at taking fashion photos. Surprising, in a good way. You should have made her hold a skateboard in a couple of shots, you know. Just to have those negatives to LOl at. I would.

When are those Lydon photos gonna run? wanna see the b-sides to that. Message them to me on Facebook. k? k.

That hat. I don't understand. Trying to show off crochet skills.

Soncho. Do you read these comments?
Metal sign and skate stickers on the bed frame. Teenage bedroom. Once you start sharing your bedroom with somebody things may change.

Paint sponge on the walls.

Are German youth more fashionable? A friend of mine went to spain recently. she said everybody there is very clean.

There might be a differnence in fashion or the way people dress between
Europe/Germany and the States/Elsewhere but since it´s all related to youth culture/scenes/trends, some ages will dress the same everywhere I guess.

Maybe there were more significant differences decades or ages ago or maybe the older generations dresses differently but not striking different.

It also depends if your easily led by fashion, your budget and social background.

More clean? Idk.

great photos, they look more realistic and are much more exiting than most fashion photos I see in magazines. They are more like portraits of her that describe her teenage life.

thats a cool print Jgonz, Rieder is one of my favourite skaters. And I spotted him when I was a Moma about a year ago. I was starstruck.
Posted By: emilie on August 15th, 2012 at 07:10AM PST
ha! You saw Rieder? I didn't even know. Rieder was recently in Vogue magazine, I think. something like that. and Olson was ranked 9 on some list of most fashionable people in LA right now. Citations for their handsomeness.

I want to see Nawors everywhere.

Oh. hey. Deanna's book finally came in the mail. Lemme do a giga comment about the whole book.
The cover. Yes. The Smiths song reference. already on a good start. I mean the start is good knowing it's Deanna. but, more sweet.
I haven't read the intro yet since I just got the book. Maybe it's part of my generation having ADD. and the fact that the opening blurb is over 160 characters and contains no Emojis. I'll read it later. for surrrre.
Jacob Owns this. For some reason "owning" a certain part of somebody I guess first trended on Myspace. when tagging photos emerged. I never was into it since I thought it was pretty stupid. I mean I know I was a dumbass teenager but I guess I wasn't that stupid. or at least stupid in that dimension. girls tend to not like dick in their ass. I've learned this while conversing with other males. and lightly through personal experience.
Then those Jesus arm tattoo fish things. Do these things really spread faith?
Young kid. Showing playfulness by sticking his tongue out underneath his braced up teeth.
Ugly log and ugly graffiti applied to a trucker hat. Money and a sugary drink in hand. Proudly displaying the quick and convenient pleasures she enjoys. Self destructive in the long run for yourself and society that follows. Enjoy our life we're told. even though we may descend into an after life for eternity we leave this place trashed as a biproduct of comfort. Putting off future discomfort for the next set of people. but it doesn't matter since Death is the ultimate sleep.

Girls with Arizona cans. Austin Stephens!! So stylish. his beanie and paper cup. what is he drinking. not as scandalous as Little Wayne. And I'm guessing that's spanky next to him. then...?? I'm not sure. another flanneled skater.

Spanky ink on the stomach. now a married man.

Lost girls.

Pot leaf. how edgy. Is that real spray paint? Further dumping chemicals into your body. weed isn't a drug. it's not addicting at all. I can stop at any time. There aren't any side effects. Nobody dies from it. You can't overdose. Things i've heard. In My Eyes.

Even the highschool athletes aren't safe from DC. I guess they're supposed to be role models to other students. Yeah. right.

NO WIMPS.Work out every single muscle in your body. achieve greek perfection. or was it roman? anyway. Work everything out, get tone. be masculine. neglect the muscle tissue in your skull. let it diminish. As long as enough brain left to keep swiping that credit card.

that JLAy one is funny. Young boy as group of older girls looks on.

Mariner stars. Gross!

Tilly's. and kids with fake moustaches a la billy marks. Tilly's corporate skate. do they exist in California?

pretty sweet Mossimo hat.

I'll comment more later. maybe. i'm liking the book.

I just read your whole Deanna book review. I have to get the book now, sounds interesting.

I took this picture of a friend, what do you guys think? do I have the stuff to take skate photos?
Posted By: emilie on August 17th, 2012 at 08:54AM PST
Jgonzalez, thank you for your thoughts on my book!!! I haven't heard anyone's real take on my book, I mean I've heard nice compliments but your comments are so thoughtful, and well it also nice to get feedback especially if the person gets where your coming from through your photos. Thank you for not only purchasing the book but for taking your time with it.

I wish I would've checked my grammar before I hit post comment.. anyway.
Posted By: Deanna Templeton on August 17th, 2012 at 12:35PM PST
So nice of Deanna to write such a thoughtful reply to Jgonz. It kind of suprised me that she hadn't had any real feedback on her book. I guess most people make up their mind and talk about art with their friends, but never really dear to give a real feedback to the artist if they ever meet them. I do it myself, if I get the chance to exchange words with an artist i appreciate I just stutter out "nice work", and never think my opinion is of any interest to an artist who obviously know so much more about art than me. I guess I haven't really thought about it in that way.

A rare Deanna appearance.

Emilie. I recommend the book. That mega comment is only from me looking at a couple of the pages. So hopefully it would inspire thought for you too.

Tilley Times Two: Outdoor Coats For The City And Beyond
To paraphrase a quote: "You can tell a man by the coat he chooses". Few garments are quite as visible as a Cheap Moncler jacket, and few others need to be quite so durable, holding up against the elements, neglectful treatment, and infrequent cleaning. And today's company is a brand you might not be familiar with, offering gear that's made in Canada, and originally justly Moncler Boots famous for their hats. Not just any hat, either- theirs comes with an owner's manual and an insurance policy, and the one we tested years ago continues to hold up incredibly Cheap Moncler Coat well. But they make much more than headwear, and so we were anxious to try out two of their men's jackets, one a stylish blazer and the other a waterproof hooded jacket.

First in the pair was the City Collection Travel Blazer- and now we're featuring the Tilley Endurables Men's Waterproof Jacket. Moncler Jacket For Kids Available in three color choices, ours was the classic charcoal, though sand and red both seemed like solid options. Sizing runs from small all the way through 3XL, and felt just Moncler Jackets UK a little bit baggy overall in the small we tried. But at least in the arms and waist, that wasn't an issue, as a drawstring on the bottom adjusted nicely, and well-designed velcro cuffs closed them off to the wind as well. In the closeup image we took, you can see the Moncler Kids somewhat unusual fastener, as well as the zipper.
