Ed, why did the original title of the contest get cut? is there some sort of censorship issue?

Dude i dont like labling but don't insult hippies. Im a hippie at heart and i don't want conflict or arguing but please don't insult hippies.

You can be peaceful and loving without being a hippie. Unfortunatly these terms will forever be linked with a burnt out cult called hippies. People like to associate ideas with groups. Look at one of the "grooviest" thinkers of all time; Jesus Christ. Do you think he he would be greatful that his ideas turned into groups which wage war in his name? The hippies would never wage war, they wouldn't even stand up for what they believed in. Sure there were protests and rallies. And with the promise of psychoactive drugs, the masses gathered. The shepard, the organizer with the bull horn traded their ironic army jacket for a sport coat. sadly this was the smartest way out. They left their sheep in the pasture to burn out. The sheep are the hippies. They believed that peace and love came in tab form. They honestly believed that they could change the world with drug induced wishes. Trurth be told, the world sucks. It is a rough place to be a human but we all have to deal with it. There is no easy way out.. I am not saying that psychoactive drugs have not had a beautiful impact on the world, look at all the music and art that was coming from this time. But these were artist expierimenting and creating. The hippies just claimed these people as their own. In this time when musicians were Messiahs, even the artist themself got confused. John Lennon and Yoko Ono had a bed protest. They were not going to get out of bed until the war ended. Good John. Just sit in your fuckin' king sized bed, with maids bringing you food, while thousands died. I am sure world leaders came together and said," Well John and Yoko aren't going to get out of bed..." Sounds like a great protest to me. I think it is awesome that people still are young enough to believe in peace and love. Hopefully we have learned from the failures we call hippies, and realize that those things, peace and love, come from the heart and soul, not some drug. Bell bottoms and the 70's in general are in style but lets not attach our fashions with a way of life. If you still insist you are a hippie, alone with peace and love, you should learn these other terms: " Can I bum a dollar?" and " Karma bro.". Also get used to a word that every left-over has burned into their mushy brain, "NO!"
