Catalina trip no.1 for 2012
Went for Cinco de Mayo and other things...
Off from Long Beach for adventure. Passing the Queen Mary.
Seagull lurking hard on our snacks.
He liked Have'a Chips, the best chips ever.
I think one lodged in his throat.
Nobody anywhere, so nice.
My first ever sighting of the elusive Giant Black Sea Bass. They used to be caught in abundance off Catalina Island, (see this old photo from 1905) but have since been overfished and are critically endangered. This one was 5 feet long, and probably over 200 pounds.
It was just lurking under the pier all day taking handouts from people.
The people from Joe's Rent-a-Boat (The best activity by far on the lsland!) were worried that a kid would leave his/her hand in the water and the fish would think it was some food. This beast could easily pull a 4-year-old into the water.
This guy was trying to pet it.
Mike V was there shredding a mini ramp demo and killing it.
The sea was calm and the moon was bright and full. We saw dolphins, giant sea bass, bald eagles, harbor seals, sea lions, and leopard sharks. A good day for sure.

that place looks so great. Are those amazing fish wild or in some type of tank? I would never EVER go in the water with those things. Deep water is creepy, especially when its all dark. Thanks for the video.

I read in the paper that Saturday night's moon was called a super moon because it was at the closest to earth it'll be all year and should appear larger...they had a percentage, I think it was like 17%, but I forgot it. Anyway, I looked at eleven at night to see it, and we had shit weather here, so it couldn't even be seen. I love the moon for some reason and not seeing it bummed me out haha.
I've got to go to California. It looks so nice there, I don't even believe it half the time. DAT BASS!!!! What the fuck? That thing is awesome! It would eat a kid, and not even think twice. Pretty amazing to see such a fish like that. All on the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer Island. Please tell me you've seen Stepbrothers, if not, you should. Depending on how you feel about Will Ferrell.

The sticker wars are awesome. Ed is a hoarder. Toy machine should get some new stickers. Lots of the pro boards has different sect characters on them, what about selling the boards with a complementary sticker pack of the same character?
