Barcelona for the NY Times 6
Earlier this year I went to Barcelona with the New York Times Style Magazine, "T," to shoot photos for a travel story revolving around the fact that Barcelona has historically been a hub of Skateboard, Art, and Graffiti culture. Sadly, the article (and hence my photos) will never run because of staffing changes at the magazine. So I will do a series of posts sharing the photos I took on that trip to Spain this April, 2012.
This post will deal with the Cathedrals, The Sagrada Familia, and the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, (aka Catedral.) And how religion is entwined in everyday life in Barcelona.
The Sagrada Familia by designed by Gaudi has been under construction since 1882, and still is today.

The architecture in Barcelona is stunning, those cathedrals all look insane.
If I ever were to visit there it would have to be for Easter, I am in no way religious but it would be amazing to observe these rituals in real life and not via the Internet.

I have this book called "Secret Society's", it's a Silvia Brown book.lol Anyways she claims that Jesus never died on the cross and he basically faked his death and actually traveled the world until he was 80. She knows this because she traveled the "Astral planes" and stuff. Crazy, huh?

I learned in my Art History class that Islam spread to Spain before 900CE and there are Mosques and buildings that feature Islamic architecture.
That photo of the, is it sagrada familia?, would be way more edgy and punk if there was trash floating in the river. you know, social commentary. Like "mann, we live in this stained world u knowww" Litter for art.

Any of you guys experienced with the recovery of lost data from external harddrives???
I was copying a shitload of photos from my macbook to an external hd.
Then the battery run flat.And when I started my macbook again
all !!!!!! of my data on the external hd was gone.For some of the data I already have some backups on DVDs, but I´m afraid soe couple of hundreds photos are lost.....

@S A friend of mine had this happen and ended up having to pay over $500 to have the files restored by a professional, so if someone here can\'t help you I\'d try searching the web for a good while before taking it in to a pro as they seem to be pretty expensive.

Not sure if it will help but here is a quote I found in a comments section for a post addressing this problem, seemed to me to be the easiest way for it
"run a live linux, my favorite is knoppix, you can run from the cd, (of course first setting your boot options in BOIS to cdrom) then you can pull the data to a second installed burner or if the computer is networked use samba to transfer the information off of the bad drive. once i have the info that is salvageable off, it’s time to test and see if the drive is worthy of saving or time to replace."

Just noticed you said you have a Mac and I believe only Windows has BIOS so if Linux is compatable with a Mac I think you'd need to boot your computer with the Cd-rom through Openfirmware.
Though I know nothing about Macintosh computers and hardly know a thing about windows either

I used to work as a computer assistant at my university. They had programs that could retrieve all information that had ever been on memory sticks etc. It is definitly possible to get the information back. Good luck.
I saw Ed was posting on instagram again with some photobookjousting. Good to see he is doing some normal things again. The last burnout on thrasher was great. Toy tours must be the best.

Maybe try asking a student at University to retrieve them? They may be alot cheaper than the pros.
If anyone knows someone who does this sort of thing they can usually access remotely via LogMeIn or other program to see if they can retrieve anything simply.
